Invitation to public history address

Please join us at a public history talk on Wednesday
5 August at 12.15pm to hear Dr Steven Loveridge discuss

The dynamics of mobilisation and comprehension of
New Zealand society at war

The First World War saw all belligerent societies engaged in an ongoing process of channelling massive physical, financial and emotional investments into their war effort.  The results of this phenomenon, as well as the means by which it operated, make mobilisation a crucial concept for comprehending the relationship between war and society during 1914-1918.
This talk explores the dynamics of the mobilisation process and considers what it might add to our comprehension of wartime New Zealand.
