Hi,

Great blog. Just have a question about publishing/agents - how hard is it to get a New York lit agent in the United States, if you are an unknown author, and is it common for a NZ author to have a New York agent, and do they need one to sell their work overseas? I was just wondering, cause I have a friend that has a NY agent, with a well-known agency, and I am a writer as well, and was thinking if I should try and get one for my novel. My novel is a young adult novel, but does not have any New Zealand themes.

Thanks for your great blog, and happy new year!

Best to get published in NZ first Tom then have a crack at the US market. Just as difficult to get an agent as it is to get a publisher up here in NYC.
Happy New Year to you too and thanks for the kind comment.
